Marti Plager News

2009 has been an eventful year.  On Sept. 4 my show,  "CONNECTIONS"  opens at Christ Church Cathedral, 421 Second St., Louisville, KY, from 6-9 pm.  This exhibit can be seen through October 11 during the cathedral's business hours:  M-F, 9-4 in Bishop's Hall.

There are also 4 pieces of my work on display in the lobby of Bunbury Theater, Third floor, 604 S. Third St., Louisville from Sept. 3-20.

I will also be doing another show at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 330 N. Hubbards Lane, Louisville which opens Nov. 1 through Dec. 2009.

There are other pieces traveling in the world as part of several SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Association) exhibits, including Yellowstone Quilt Fest, Cody, WY (Sept. 11-13) and the Rocky Mountain Quit Museum, Golden, CO (Nov. 6 - Jan. 31.)

I continue to be interested in surface design techniques, specifically screen printing with thickened dye or discharge agents to either add color or take color away.  I still love to piece fabrics together. Adding the quilting stitches is a joy as these stitches provide additional color and texture.

See my resume for past exhibitions and venues.
