The Botany Lesson

As I experimented with discharge agents to take color away from this triple dyed fabric, I found myself being reminded of trees, especially in the Smokey Mountains National Park, Tennessee. Tree trunks, leaves, lichen, disease, and storms: the botanist can tell the story and what has happened. I can only be inspired by the patterns and the colors.
